On March 14, 2025, Scott David Herwick, aged 56, captained his final flight to heaven while surrounded by family.
Scott was born in Virginia on Christmas,1968 to Paul and Caryl (Thompson) Herwick. He went on to graduate from West Aurora High School in 1986, before graduating from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Science. On March 12, 1994, Scott married Karin (Wilson) Herwick of Sugar Grove. They made their home in North Aurora.
Over the course of 40 years, Scott flew a variety of airplanes both professionally and recreationally. He spent 20 years flying for the Boeing Company, where he was a strong advocate for safety measures in the aviation industry. Scott left an indelible mark on the people he shared the sky with during his time as a pilot.
Throughout his life, Scott visited 5 different continents, exploring some of the world's biggest cities and most exotic countries. He spent most of his time traveling, but while he was home
